About Snom

Snom (Japanese: ユキハミ Yukihami) is a dual-type Ice/Bug Pokémon introduced in Generation VIII of the Pokémon series. Known as the Worm Pokémon, Snom evolves into Frosmoth when it is leveled up with high friendship at night. Snom is distinguished by its unique type combination, being the only Ice/Bug Pokémon alongside its evolved form.

Snom’s backstory reveals it as a small, larval Pokémon that thrives in snowy environments. It disguises itself as an icicle while sleeping by anchoring itself to branches with frigid threads it extrudes from its mouth. Snom’s diet consists mainly of snow, particularly favoring soft, fresh snow. It slowly climbs up mountains, consuming snow to maintain and grow the icy spikes on its back. These spikes are a result of Snom’s internal organs amplifying the cold air from the snow it consumes.

In the Pokémon world, Snom plays a role as a unique member of the ecosystem, helping to control the snow levels by consuming it. Its presence is a testament to the diverse habitats within the Pokémon universe, specifically those regions that feature cold, mountainous terrain. Snom’s evolution into Frosmoth, a graceful and powerful Ice/Bug Pokémon, showcases the transformation from a humble larval form to a majestic moth-like creature.

Snom is characterized by its round white body covered in icy spikes, with a head that has two black eyes and round mouthparts. It has four short legs under its body. Notably, Snom has several unique attributes: it has the lowest base stat total of all Ice-type Pokémon and is the only Ice-type with a serpentine body. Snom’s abilities include Ice Scales, which it shares only with its evolution, Frosmoth. Despite its low stats, Snom’s ability to evolve through friendship and its distinctive combination of Ice and Bug types make it a notable Pokémon within its generation.
