Walking Wake
Walking Wake (Japanese: ウネルミナモ Uneruminamo) is a dual-type Water/Dragon Paradox Pokémon introduced during Generation IX of the Pokémon series. This unique Pokémon does not evolve from or into any other Pokémon. It is considered an ancient relative of Suicune, one of the Legendary beasts. Walking Wake was officially revealed alongside Iron Leaves during the Pokémon Presents event on February 27, 2023, and became available in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet's Version 1.2.0 update on the same day.

In terms of backstory, Walking Wake is believed to be a super-ancient form of Suicune from the past, as depicted in an illustration in the Scarlet Book. This ancient Pokémon was brought to the depths of Area Zero by a time machine built by Professor Sada ten years prior to its reveal. Walking Wake was sketched in the Scarlet Book by a member of the Area Zero Expedition, who noted its resemblance to an aquatic monster. There are varying theories about its origin, with some suggesting it is from another timeline, though its true origin remains a mystery.
Within the Pokémon world, Walking Wake plays a significant role as one of the Paradox Pokémon. It, along with Iron Leaves, was introduced as an event-exclusive Pokémon with signature moves and could be encountered in Tera Raid Battles. Walking Wake is known for its unique ability to walk on water, a trait that links it to the basilisk lizard and enhances its mystique. Despite being based on the Legendary Suicune, Walking Wake is not classified as a Legendary Pokémon itself, highlighting its distinctive status within the Pokémon lore.
Walking Wake's physical characteristics and abilities are noteworthy. It is a large, bipedal theropod dinosaur Pokémon, distinguished by its white diamond-shaped markings and a prominent cerulean blue crest on its forehead. Its mane, resembling the aurora borealis, covers its arms and back, featuring six tips of spiky hair in red and orange hues. Walking Wake's powerful hind legs allow it to support its weight and walk bipedally. It is the only known Pokémon capable of learning the move Hydro Steam, which becomes stronger in sunlight despite being a Water-type move. This ability, along with its dual Water/Dragon typing, makes Walking Wake a formidable presence in battles.
