Cyndaquil
Cyndaquil (Japanese: ヒノアラシ Hinoarashi) is a Fire-type Pokémon introduced in Generation II of the Pokémon series. It evolves into Quilava starting at level 14, and further evolves into Typhlosion at level 36. In the Hisui region, it evolves into Quilava starting at level 17, which then evolves into Hisuian Typhlosion at level 36. Cyndaquil is one of the three starter Pokémon available to players at the beginning of Pokémon Gold, Silver, Crystal, HeartGold, SoulSilver, and Pokémon Legends: Arceus.

Cyndaquil is a small, bipedal Pokémon characterized by its bluish fur on top and cream-colored fur on its underside. It has a long snout and often keeps its eyes closed. Four red circles on its back can erupt into flames, giving the appearance of spines when ignited. This firepower increases when Cyndaquil is angry or defensive but diminishes when it is tired. Typically timid, Cyndaquil tends to curl into a ball when intimidated and prefers staying hunched over. In the wild, Cyndaquil is rare and is usually found in grasslands. It is known for its powerful fire abilities, which are crucial for its defense and offense in battles.
