The white ruff around its neck is longer on females. Hypno's pendulum, resembling a flat, silver ring, is essential for its hypnotic powers. This Pokémon's behavior and appearance are influenced by various mythological and folkloric entities, including the Japanese baku, a dream-eating spirit, and elements of European supernatural creatures like goblins and fairies.
