Kyogre
Kyogre (Japanese: カイオーガ Kyogre) is a Water-type Legendary Pokémon introduced in Generation III. It does not evolve into or from any other Pokémon, but it can undergo Primal Reversion to become Primal Kyogre when holding the Blue Orb. Kyogre is known for its ability to expand the oceans and is one of the super-ancient Pokémon alongside Groudon and Rayquaza. It is prominently featured as the game mascot for Pokémon Sapphire and its remake, Pokémon Alpha Sapphire, appearing on the box art of both games.
Kyogre's backstory is deeply rooted in the lore of the Pokémon world. In ancient times, Kyogre engaged in a fierce rivalry with Groudon, a Pokémon with the power to expand continents. This conflict was a cataclysmic battle between land and sea. Kyogre is sought after by Team Aqua in Pokémon Sapphire, Emerald, and Alpha Sapphire, where they attempt to harness its power to create more habitats for aquatic Pokémon by raising the sea level. According to Pokémon mythology, Kyogre is believed to have expanded the seas and is revered for quenching areas plagued by drought.
In the Pokémon world, Kyogre plays a significant role as a powerful and revered Legendary Pokémon. Kyogre is characterized by its massive, whale-like appearance with a deep blue body, large pectoral fins, and distinctive red markings that glow when it is brimming with power. Its eyes are small and yellow, and it has the ability to create enormous rain clouds capable of covering the world. In its Primal form, Kyogre's body becomes darker, and its markings change to light blue, displaying a more translucent appearance. This form, said to be Kyogre's true state, is at its peak power and can manipulate weather to nullify Fire-type moves. Kyogre is the only Pokémon capable of learning the move Origin Pulse and has the Primordial Sea ability in its Primal form.
