Geodude (Japanese: イシツブテ Isitsubute) is a dual-type Rock/Ground Pokémon introduced in Generation I of the Pokémon series. Geodude evolves into Graveler starting at level 25, and then into Golem when traded or exposed to a Linking Cord. In the Alola region, Geodude has a regional variant that is a dual-type Rock/Electric Pokémon. This variant also evolves into Alolan Graveler at level 25, which then evolves into Alolan Golem when traded.

Geodude's backstory reveals it as a Pokémon often found on mountain trails and fields, where it remains motionless and is frequently mistaken for a rock. Its rocky appearance and tough exterior have led to many misunderstandings with other Pokémon and even humans. Scholars have documented numerous Geodude on popular hiking routes, noting their tendency to stay still for extended periods, making them easy to overlook. Over time, Geodude's body becomes chipped and worn, with long-lived individuals developing a smooth, rounded shape.

In the Pokémon world, Geodude plays a significant role as both a companion and a challenge for trainers. Its presence in various regions, including Kanto and Alola, allows trainers to encounter and capture it early in their journeys. In battle, Geodude is known for its sturdy defense and strong physical attacks. Its Alolan form adds an electric element to its capabilities, providing additional strategic options for trainers. Geodude's evolution into Graveler and Golem further enhances its combat potential, making it a valuable asset in various battles and competitions.

Geodude is characterized by its brownish-gray boulder-like appearance, with muscular arms and five-fingered hands. It uses its strong arms to climb mountains and can often be seen competing with other Geodude to prove the hardness of its body. Despite its rugged exterior, Geodude's heart remains tough and unyielding. The Alolan variant of Geodude has magnetic properties, attracting iron sand to its body and giving it a distinctive look with black eyebrows and hair-like structures. This variant also has the unique ability to deliver electrical shocks when stepped on. Geodude's abilities and forms make it a versatile and intriguing Pokémon in the franchise.
