Tinkaton's backstory involves its evolutionary line, starting as Tinkatink, then evolving into Tinkatuff, and finally reaching its ultimate form at level 38. The evolution process reflects Tinkaton's growth in both size and strength, culminating in its acquisition of a massive hammer made from scavenged metal. This hammer is an upgraded version of the one it wielded as a Tinkatuff, signifying its progression and adaptation to its environment.

In the Pokémon world, Tinkaton plays a unique role due to its intelligence and playful yet reckless personality. It is known to swing its gigantic hammer at rocks to launch them into the sky, aiming to hit flying Corviknight. Additionally, Tinkaton exhibits kleptomaniac tendencies, often stealing items and taking them back to its dwelling. This behavior adds a layer of unpredictability to its interactions with other Pokémon and trainers.

Tinkaton's physical characteristics are distinct, with a pink humanoid body, large white arms, and a prominent twin-tail hairstyle. Its arms end in five-fingered hands, and it has steel plates resembling outturned pockets on its hips. Tinkaton's hammer, a crude yet powerful tool weighing over 220 pounds (100 kg), is a defining feature, showcasing its strength and resourcefulness. Despite the hammer's weight, Tinkaton can swing it with ease, demonstrating its remarkable physical capabilities. Additionally, Tinkaton is the only Pokémon capable of learning the move Gigaton Hammer, highlighting its unique combat abilities.
