Pecharunt’s origins are steeped in myth, tracing back to a distant land where it was adopted by an elderly couple without children. To secure their affection, Pecharunt fed them Binding Mochi, which unleashed their inner greed. The couple’s increasing demands culminated in a request for a set of masks found in Kitakami. Pecharunt, with the help of Okidogi, Munkidori, and Fezandipiti, stole the masks from Ogerpon, resulting in a violent confrontation. Ogerpon defeated the Loyal Three, but Pecharunt survived by retreating into its shell, lying dormant for hundreds of years until awakened by a Mythical Pecha Berry.

In the Pokémon world, Pecharunt plays a pivotal role as a manipulative force. It stores poison in its peach-shaped shell to create toxic chains and Binding Mochi, which it uses to control other Pokémon and humans. Pecharunt’s mochi can draw out the deepest desires and powers of those who consume it, binding them to its will. This control extends to humans, who exhibit purple eyes and a distinctive dance while under its influence. Capturing Pecharunt releases those under its control, erasing their memories of the experience.

Pecharunt is characterized by its deceptive appearance and unique abilities. It resembles a piece of mochi with two forms: an upside-down peach shape with a black circular face and a smaller inner body resembling a peach pit when its shell opens. Its abilities include creating toxic chains and enhancing other Pokémon’s attributes. Pecharunt is the only Pokémon capable of learning the move Malignant Chain and has the exclusive Ability Poison Puppeteer. Its sweet smell, feigned weakness, and reliance on others to fight highlight its cowardly yet cunning nature.
