Weezing (マタドガス Matadogas) is a Poison-type Pokémon introduced in Generation I of the Pokémon series. Known for its unique appearance and toxic abilities, Weezing evolves from Koffing starting at level 35. In the Galar region, Weezing has a regional form that is dual-type Poison/Fairy, maintaining its evolutionary path from Koffing at the same level.

Weezing's origin traces back to polluted environments where toxic gases accumulate. It is said that Weezing forms when two Koffing fuse over many years. This fusion process is usually gradual, but on rare occasions, a sudden mutation can accelerate it. Weezing's presence in urban areas is significant as it thrives on the gases emitted by garbage and toxic waste, often seeking out dirty, unkempt places to reside.

In the Pokémon world, Weezing plays a notable role due to its toxic nature. It is frequently seen in urban settings, contributing to the environmental narrative within the games. Trainers often encounter Weezing in locations with high levels of pollution. Weezing is characterized by its dual spherical heads connected by a thin tube, each containing different toxins. The larger head features prominent eyebrows, pointed teeth, and a cream-colored skull-and-crossbones marking, while the smaller head has simpler features. Galarian Weezing, in contrast, has a Victorian-era aesthetic with a gray body and hat-like tubes releasing purified air. Weezing's abilities include expelling toxic gases and hovering in midair, and its Galarian form introduces the unique move "Strange Steam." Despite its toxic nature, Weezing's gases can be diluted to create top-grade perfume, showcasing its complex biological properties.
