About Mimikyu

Mimikyu (Japanese: ミミッキュ Mimikkyu) is a dual-type Ghost/Fairy Pokémon introduced in Generation VII of the Pokémon series. Notably, Mimikyu does not evolve into or from any other Pokémon. It has a unique characteristic of changing forms from its Disguised Form to Busted Form when it takes a hit during battle.

Mimikyu's backstory is shrouded in mystery and loneliness. This Pokémon hides under an old rag resembling Pikachu, a disguise it created in an attempt to make friends, inspired by Pikachu's popularity. It is said that Mimikyu’s true form is so horrifying that seeing it can cause illness or even death. To avoid this, it remains hidden, and any attempt to see beneath its rag makes Mimikyu agitated and violent. The disguise is not just for social acceptance but also serves to protect Mimikyu from the harmful effects of sunlight.

In the Pokémon world, Mimikyu plays a significant role, particularly in the Alola region. It serves as the Totem Pokémon for the Thrifty Megamart's Island Challenge. This special Mimikyu possesses energy from Ultra Wormholes, known as Z-Power, which manifests as a golden, flaring aura. Mimikyu is also the only Pokémon capable of using the Z-Move Let's Snuggle Forever. Its presence in various games highlights its unique abilities and the lore surrounding its mysterious nature.

Mimikyu is characterized by its small size and the ragged Pikachu-like disguise it wears. The disguise features black-tipped ears, a drawn-on Pikachu face with black eyes, red cheeks, and a squiggly black mouth. When the disguise is damaged, the head of the costume droops, revealing the ruse. Mimikyu has beady black eyes through the disguise's holes, though its true eyes are purple, and it can extend a long, black claw-like appendage from beneath the rag. Mimikyu’s ability, Disguise, allows it to avoid damage from the first attack it receives in battle, after which it changes to its Busted Form. This Pokémon's unique combination of characteristics and abilities makes it a fascinating and enigmatic figure in the Pokémon universe.
